The Maryland Community Action Partnership (MCAP) will host the 2016 Human Services Conference on May 3-5, 2016, at the Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel, 903 Dulaney Valley Road, Towson, MD 21204 (410) 828-6425.

This year’s event theme is Partners in Excellence.   The Conference will bring together more than 300 Human and Social Services professionals from across Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia working in programs such as CSBG, MEAP/EUSP, Weatherization, Head Start and more.

Our conference is particularly important for human services government and nonprofit professionals to share and learn from one another in a partnership that will enhance their ability to better serve consumers.   This includes:

  • Executive Directors
  • Board Members
  • Human and Family Service Practitioners
  • State Government Staff
  • Social Workers / Licensed Professionals
  • Customers / Volunteers

The conference features six Training Tracks designed to highlight cutting-edge issues in agency operations, program development, customer service, board governance, marketing and public relations, social media, program policy and updates, and more.   Sessions will focus on Innovative Approaches in Serving Consumers:

  • Effective Leadership and Governance
  • Exemplary Program Models
  • Advocacy to Reduce Poverty
  • Policy Updates for Community Action, Energy, Weatherization, Head Start
  • Best Practices to End Homelessness and Hunger
  • Updates in State and Federal Regulations

This conference will provide an exciting forum for exchange of practical knowledge and new strategies related to Human Service Network. It will also offer the opportunity to demonstrate your expertise and share success with executive directors, chief executive officers, board members and top level professionals, including fiscal and human resource directors, department heads, program managers, development directors, work ready coordinators, customer direct service centers, marketing and public relations directors.

In addition to attending the sessions, networking with new and old colleagues, and enjoying three days of learning, the Conference will include our Annual Gala on Wednesday, May 4, where we will celebrate MCAP’s 30 years of service as an association to the CAA network.  It’s a celebration you will not want to miss!
